Key Stage 1 is comprised of Year 1 and Year 2. Children move into Key Stage 1 from the Foundation Stage, in the September following their fifth birthday.

There are small numbers that are taught in two parallel classes by well-qualified and dedicated teachers, supported by enthusiastic and committed teaching assistants. The core subjects are planned for and taught by the class teachers. The work is usually based around a topic and a variety of activities are planned to address all of the different learning styled of our children. Music, French, Drama, Dance and Physical Education are taught by specialist teachers, ensuring that our children have high quality teaching at all times.
A typical week for our children may involved: Numeracy, Literacy, ICT, French, Physical Education (Games and Gymnastics) Dance/Drama, Art, Music, Geography, History, Science, Religious Education, PSHE, Design Technology. Added to this in Year 2, Swimming and Recorder playing.
