Concerts and Productions

Over a period of a year each child at The Elms from Nursery to Year 6 will have an opportunity to participate in at least one concert or production.

In the Foundation Stage our pupils engage in Christmas Nativities and Productions.

Higher up the school in Key Stage One, children have opportunities with drama and dance within the class assemblies as well as Christmas Productions for Years 1 and 2.

Dramatic opportunties also exist for our Key Stage Two pupils within class assemblies and pantomime or stage productions. Some of our most recent productions include Dracula Rock Show (Year 6) and Oink! (Year 3 and 4). Our Key Stage Two pupils also have opportunities within stage productions held at Trent College, with many children being involved in their production of The Wizard of Oz.

Music features prominently in the school and concerts are arranged to allow a platform for our young performers on their chosen orchestral instrument. There are many concerts held throughout the school year, including Spring Strings, Music Extravaganza, Year 3 Workshops and the Brass and Woodwind Concerts, as well as The Elms Speech Day, which provide opportunities of performing on stage, whether in an ensemble or orchestra group or in a solo performance.
