Outdoor Education - Field Trips
Throughout the course of the year our pupils enjoy many and varied opportunities to visit sites outside of the school environment. These field trips can be History, Science, Art, Drama or Geography focused or be part of a wider cross curricula theme, for example Settlements.
In the Foundation Stage the pupils travel short distances for their out of school experiences while in Key Stage One pupils journeys include:
- Patchings Farm – Art and Design
- Lakeside Theatre- Drama Workshop and Performance
- Carsington Reservoir- Science and Geography work based on Water
- Nottingham Castle and the Brewhouse Yard- History coming alive
At Key Stage Two, our pupils enjoy visits further afield and in Year 4, 5 and 6 incorporate residential stays of one, two or four night stays.
Pupils in Year Six thoroughly enjoy their week away from school, building on the confidence of having travelled away from home with school for the shorter experiences. Visits to Staffordshire, Derbyshire Peak District, Yorkshire and the Lake District offer educational experiences for the foundation subjects as well as on site investigations and skill building and independence.
