All pupils at The Elms enjoy a healthy nutritious lunch which is included in the school fees.
Nursery and Infant children are also provided with milk and fruit at morning playtimes and juniors may bring in their own healthy snack.
All meals and refreshments for The Elms are prepared on-site by our professional catering team. We are very proud that Trent College and The Elms recently received a "Department for Education Healthy School’s Award" and also has a five-star environmental health rating.
We operate a three week menu system, changed each term, which provides a wide range of nutritionally-sound meals and endeavours to cater for all tastes and dietary requirements. Parents of pupils who have special diets such as coeliac or who have allergies are encouraged to contact us and staff are always available to advise on ingredients and preparation of the food on offer.
Children in Pre-School and Reception have a family dining experience in the Lee, being served at their tables by the catering staff and sitting with Nursery staff.
Children in Years 1 to 6 eat in the Obolensky. They benefit from a wider range of lunchtime options as well as the experience of eating in a more grown-up environment.
We are committed to providing pupils with food of the highest standard, complying with all food safety and hygiene legislation, good practices, guidance notes and codes of practices issued by the various authorities and the catering industry.
