Our children very quickly become confident learners and enjoy experiencing all the school has to offer.
Each room has an individual daily routine suited to the needs of the children. Children are involved in free play, adult led play, planned activities and child initiated activities. Each month activities are planned around a different theme and children are encouraged to discuss what they know about the theme and develop skills to investigate and find out more. Play is at the heart of all of our learning. Our activities are based inside and outside the classroom and this helps as children progress through the Nursery.
During the week children are encouraged to learn new skills which are shaped through monitoring of their development and providing suitable opportunities for this to occur during play and activities. In all areas of the Nursery the day begins with registration and free play. During the day children join in Key Person circle time activities which are linked to a monthly theme.
Activities cover all areas of learning and are developed around this theme and the development needs of the children. Follow on planned and free play opportunities run throughout the day and are developed through children’s interests.
Each week children will visit the library and are involved in cookery activities. We have visits from specialist teachers in French, Music and Dance.
