At The Elms Junior School our dedicated and highly experienced teaching and support staff work together to provide a first‐class education for each one of our pupils.
As well as teachers for core subjects such as Mathematics and English, we believe in the benefits of employing other experts in a wide range of areas in which we aim to develop our children to very high standards. Specialist subject teachers support our well‐qualified primary teachers to deliver an excellent programme of lessons tailored to our children’s needs and abilities.
Starting in our Reception Class, children are taught Music, Dance, Physical Education and Modern Foreign Languages by individual specialists. As children develop and move through the school into the junior age ranges, they are also taught Science, Computing, Art, Design Technology and Drama by specialist staff in dedicated and well‐resourced classrooms.
Teaching at The Elms is tailored to suit the specific requirements and capabilities of each child, enabling every pupil to progress at their own pace. Work is matched to ability and pupils are regularly monitored to ensure that they are being challenged appropriately and provided with the correct level of support to thrive academically. We want all of our children to feel success in their learning experience.
