Don't just take our word for it ...
Deborah transferred into Year 2 at The Elms and was immediately made to feel welcome. She has benefited enormously from the personal attention she receives and has made new friends. The after school care provision is ideal for working parents, and she enjoys spending time after school with her classmates. She comes home and asks us more questions about what she's learned at school. She was very pleased to get a Head Teacher's award for her attitude!
We are delighted to see a quiet girl given the opportunity to discover that she enjoys taking part in the school play and asking to take an examination in Speech and Drama. And all this after only seven weeks at The Elms!
"We were delighted with the ease at which our children, Henry and Lucy, transferred into The Elms. They had spent five years at their previous school and we expected this move to be daunting for them. The care shown by the staff and The Elms' efficient organization made the transition smooth and easy. Our children were helped by the inclusive atmosphere and sense of enjoyment with which education is approached by The Elms and we have already seen progress and an increase in motivation since they moved. We would have no hesitation in recommending The Elms to prospective parents of any year group."
(The below is from a parent of a boy (Year 1) and girl (Year 2) who have recently re-located from abroad, with both children speaking very little English on arrival)
Both children have received great support from all of your big team, especially the teachers and their assistants. The daily updates on their progress are helpful and we can see how confident the children feel in the school. It was very important for us that the children felt happy and confident in joining The Elms, and this has happened. We were really amazed with the reward and recognition the school provides, from the beginning my children have been encouraged every day and both are really keen to learn more every day.
Due to work commitments I was relocated back to the UK with my family after many years abroad. Both my children Sammy 6 and Asia 3 had only ever lived overseas in Thailand and Singapore so moving here was full of potential pitfalls. Sammy had gone to a prestigious International school in Bangkok so we were concerned to get him into a school of equal standing. However our fears of a painful transition were allayed when they took to the school immediately. Day 2 saw them both running to the car in the morning!
After a few weeks I asked Sammy which school he preferred - his old one or his new one! He replied quickly he preferred The Elms as the teachers helped him more when he made mistakes.
I couldn't have asked for more in a transitionary time for the family. It allowed me to focus on my job that takes me overseas for long periods. Nice job The Elms!
